1966 Shelby GT350 Hertz

History: Shelby records indicate that the car was completed on January 10, 1966, and delivered to Paradise Ford in Scottsdale, AZ, for dealer prep prior to being delivered to the Hertz Corporation in Phoenix, AZ. 1 of 1,000 GT350 delivered to Hertz for rental customers. It was sold to its first owner, Edward Goetz, also of Scottsdale, AZ, on January 22, 1968. Goetz purchased it for his twin 18-year old sons, who participated in hill climbs, road racing, and drag racing events including the AHRA and NHRA through 1975. They then garaged and stored the vehicle until 1999 before selling it to its current owner, also a Scottsdale, AZ resident. It was then completely restored and turned into an authentic historic racing car. Campaigned in numerous historic events with HMSA, SVRA; it was a front runner in many, including the Monterey Historics.
Condition: The car underwent a complete rotisserie restoration by Gemini Motorsports of Phoenix, AZ, and remains in top condition. Gemini Racing is well known for outstanding race prep with the GT350. Has engine dyno sheet and excellent records. 289 V8 HMSA legal. Full cage, racing belts and seat. The body shell is original and has its proper Ford VIN numbers in place which match the Shelby number. The Shelby tag is original.
Of Note: Two-owner car. Comes with original sale paperwork and title, racing logbook, and retains vintage racing tech inspection stickers on the windshield.
