The original sales invoice shows it was sold in October 1966 by Kittery Auto Sales in Maine to Lt. Robert Corolan. First owner, Carolan, kept the car for 29 years before selling it in 1995 to the second owner Paul Strieby. Strieby kept the car for 20 years and was the one who did the initial restoration. Strieby sells the Mini in 2015 to Victor Avila of San Clemente, California. Then in 2017 the Mini is sold via Grand Prix Classics to Sterling Ball of Palm Desert, California. Returning to Grand Prix Classics in 2021, it is sold to Bobby Rahal of Jacksonville, Florida. Now back at Grand Prix Classics, it is available once again.
Condition: A solid car which underwent a complete professional bare shell restoration by Paul Strieby in 1998-2000, this included all body work, paint, chrome, interior, engine rebuild, gearbox rebuild, and suspension rebuild. Extensive photo documentation comes with the car. In 2017 Bill Schlossnagel performed a top end rebuild of the engine to include valve job, cylinder head, carburetor rebuild and other work. In early 2021 $5,700 of service was performed (with receipts) to include electrical wiring, lighting, horn, fresh air system, windshield washers, turn signals, suspension flush and fill. Corrected oil leaks and did a tune up. This by Bill Schlossnagel. Then in 2023 an extensive detail and inspection. A September 2024 service was performed by Heritage Auto, a Mini Cooper specialist, which included an oil filter change and a full chassis lube.
