History: Factory records show BEX1209 being dispatched from AC Cars on October 16, 1962, with engine number 1159, which it still has today. The first owner is a Mr. Bowe of Detroit, Michigan.
There are a total of six known owners. Once owned by AC expert Ron Leonard. Residing in Southern California since the late 1990’s.
Description: A comprehensive three-year bare shell mechanical and cosmetic restoration was completed in 2001 by Classic European Restorations in San Diego, California. Records show every nut and bolt was restored to a concours level. The engine was rebuilt in 2020 by Mike Eddy (formerly of Edelbrock) and Ed Mazula. Proven by more than a dozen concours wins from 2002-2004. Then recent vetting, servicing in early June of 2021.
Of Note: A very late production, matching numbers, 100D2 engined AC Bristol Roadster with a known ownership history, multiple concours wins, excellent documentation of the restoration with photos and receipts. One of the best examples one can find. Only 346 miles of use since restoration. A restoration to this level today would cost $300,000.
