History: A Mark II with Ford Hipo 289 V8 engine and a 4-speed transmission. The best and last of the series. Delivered new to San Jose British Motors. Selling to first owner Henry Ferondo of San Jose, California. Mr. Ferondo keeps the car for 40 years. Caring for it, servicing it and keeping it in outstanding original condition. When Mr. Ferondo passes away in 2007, the Tiger goes to his niece, Lisa Ferondo. She keeps the car until 2015, when it sells to Greg Schmitz of Los Gatos, California. Still with the license plate frame of San Jose British Motors, and the old black California license plates of the mid-1960’s. This unrestored, original paint, beautiful survivor sells in 2021 to its fourth and current owner.
Condition: A low miles (44,994) original Tiger. Still with beautiful original paint. Original upholstery, seats, carpets, and interior trim. This true survivor has never been restored, just cared for from new. Recent mechanical refresh by Shelby, Ford and Tiger expert, Craig Conley of Paradise Wheels in San Marcos, California. Work included an engine rebuild, R & R of transmission and reseal, rebuild brakes, brake lines and booster, radiator, water pump, various pulleys, brackets, and the normal servicing needed on a car that has been sitting and not used much over the years. Coming to a total of just over $30,000. This magnificent survivor is now ready to be enjoyed, driven on a nice rally, or win the preservation class at a show.
Of Note: Has black soft top, Tonneau, manual, extra keys, jack, tools, old black California license plates, DMV license plate stickers going back to 1968, 69, 70, 71. Old period photos of Henry Ferondo with his car. Photos of the car as received from Lisa Ferondo to Greg Schmitz. Equipped with LAT-1 option, super tiger inductions system, Edelbrock manifold F4B intake Hi-Riser, 4BBl Holly Carburetor 465CFM. Receipts and photos of mechanical repairs and servicing.
This has to be one of the most original, special unrestored Tigers.
